Graag versoek ons dat u weer bogenoemde wedvlug onder die aandag van u klublede bring. Die wedvlug vind op die Bloemfontein 1 Ope plaas en die inskrywing beloop R10 per duif en is onbeperk. Prys geborg deur Medpet ter waarde van R1800.

We hereby request that you remind your club members of the above race which is flown on Bloemfontein1 Open. Entry fee is R10 per bird and is unlimited. The price for the race is sponsored by Medpet and is valued at R1800.

The first weekend’s results were loaded and averages updated. Please note that the 10/15/20 birds schemes averages were not calculated – this will be done as soon as the team splits are received.

Refresher on result status / process

Herewith a recap of the process by which results are published on the GPU website.

Step 1 : The races are uploaded directly by clubs over the weekends to create a ‘Temporary‘ result. Clubs with wrong liberation times/distances etc. will cause an incorrect result on the web. Club uploads are not re-calculated by the website and will be shown ‘as is’. Clubs can make corrections by uploading corrected files. Processing will not be done after Monday 00:00:00.

Step 2 : The race secretary (Andre Smit) will process the tps files of the clubs to create a ‘Stage 1‘ result. This will be a re-calculated result using same liberation details / coordinates etc. Averages will only be calculated at Step 2. This is the official result subject to corrections.

Step 3 : Results stay in status of  ‘Stage 1’  for two weeks. Corrections can be made during this period. After two weeks the result will be marked as ‘Final‘ and corrections will not be allowed.

Any queries regarding results / averages in status of ‘Stage 1’ or ‘Final’ should be directed to the race secretary of the union – Andre Smit.

The website has been prepared for 2018 and is ready to receive results.

Highlights of the changes made:

  • Sprint series was added to the race program
  • Sprint series was added to the member and pigeon averages
  • Combined member averages was removed as per the 2017 decision
  • Clubs menu was added. This will group any club related news together. Clubs are urged to send us pigeon related news from their clubs for publishing on the website. Currently only clubs are shown that has sent us news in the past – as soon as we get something from your club, we will add a menu for your club.
